Mario will perform a concert at The Camden Club on Saturday, July 26, dedicated to João Gilberto, a pioneer of the Bossa Nova musical genre in the late 1950s.
Around the world, he was often called the “father of Bossa Nova.”
Gilberto’s style combines traditional elements of samba with more contemporary jazz. His unique acoustic guitar style involves a syncopated rhythm of plucked chords, with chord progressions rooted in the jazz tradition.
Featuring reinterpretations and Mario Bakuna’s compositions, the audience will be invited to celebrate one of the greatest Brazilian musicians ever.
We look forward to a special night of Bossa Nova!
